2007 Edition of Scottish Energy Map Released

La Tene Maps are happy to announce that the 4th edition of the map "Scottish Energy Map - Electricity Generation and Transmission (Including Renewables)" has just been released.

This new map produced in association with Scottish Renewables shows Electricity Generation and Transmission in Scotland. It is the only map around to show both the traditional generators using fossil fuels and the renewable generators using wind, wave, landfill gas and hydro power. The map also shows other renewables including Biomass and Biomass Producer Groups, Biodiesel sites, Energy from Waste, etc. As well as showing the electricity generators by fuel source this is the only map available on Scotland which shows the 33 kV and some 11kV electricity distribution lines as well as110-400kV transmission system and the transformer stations.

La Tene Maps Chief Executive Mr John Coleman speaking on the release of the new map said.:"The new map is an update on the situation since last year. It is useful to anyone who is working or interested in this continuously changing industry as it shows everything that is going on. The map covers everying in place, all projects under constructuion as well as all the consented projects (Full Planning Permission). Projects covered on the map are generally either grid connected or over1.0 megawatt in size." Mr. Coleman also remarked " The new Scottish map is just one of a series which we hope to improve upon at each update adding more information. The maps are also available digitally which is of interest to some users especially those who are continuously travelling".
